Easy Tiramisu
By Bart Hubbard, based on many other
recipes
Ingredients
- 1 cup marscapone cheese
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup coffee
- 4 Tbsp. coffee liquer or so
- 1 store bought angel food cake
Directions
- Mix first 5 ingredients together (cheeses, cream, sugar,
vanilla) until fluffy and stiff
- Mix the coffee and liquer together in a small dish
- Add 1 Tbsp. of the coffee/liquer mix to the cheese and beat
in until mixed
- Slice the angel food cake into 1/2 in slices, and then half
the slices making two small rectangles
- Dip each slice of angel food cake into the coffee/liquer
mixture, and line the bottom and sides of a large bowl or
casserole dish; make sure the cake is fully dipped - dry cake
is no good for this recipe
- Fill the rest of the bowl or casserole dish with the cream
cheese mixture
- If there's leftover cake, you can add half the cheese
mixture, put down another layer of cake, and then the rest of
the cheese
- Dust the top with cocoa powder
- Refridgerate overnight
- Serve with fresh coffee
Variations
- Use 2 cups cream cheese if you can't find marscapone, or
it's too expensive at your local market
- Use 2 cups marscapone and no cream cheese for a more
authentic, but expensive, recipe
- Use lady fingers instead of angel food cake for an even
more authentic experience
